Contaminated Buko Salad

Student complains after finding 5-peso coin in her buko salad

Human Biology student complains to the MRO after finding a five-peso coin in her buko salad.

A student was about to finish her favorite desert when she found a five-peso coin mixed with her Buko Salad. “Sobrang nagulat talaga ko, nakakaines, paubos na kase yung buko salad nung nakita ko yung five pesos”, Laroza said, while giving a face of disappointment. “Buti nalang hindi ko nalunok”, she added.

Going Strong and Sexy

Cool Off

*This has nothing to do about romantic relationships.

As much as I find it hard to let go of you and you. It's the right thing to do.

The situation that arose helped me discern who my real friends are. And helped me learn more about myself.
Though it hurts me to disengage with these people I've known (and even lived) for a long time, I'm still delighted that I am blessed with wonderful and supportive people around me =)

Sometimes, we have to completely detach ourselves from some people in our lives to live a healthier, happier, and more positive life =) I just want to distance myself for awhile, but that doesn't mean that I'm removing you guys from my life, you'll always be a part of my college life and nothing can change that.

My Bucket List

Below are the Eight things I want to accomplish before the month of April (2014) =)
I actually had more things in mind that I wanted to do,
but given the short timeline, it would be impossible to accomplish everything, so I decided to just come up with a small, easy, and attainable list.

1.) Save 2,500 for Summer

2.) Teach someone how to play the Guitar (1song)

3.) Shop for cute items worth P 500

4.) Kiss a person I like on the cheek

5.) Read once again, James Allen's "As a Man Thinketh"

6.) Sing a song to someone with feelings

7.) Get myself a 2014 planner or make one

8.) Donate old, useful items and clothes to charity

Good Vibrations: Team Kramer

What the online buzz is all about: The Kramer Family

While scrolling through my Facebook news feed, I came across a photo that a friend liked, and that was a photo of a cute baby girl smiling. The page said "Team Kramer", with a family picture as it's display photo. As a young lady who has a penchant for kids, I immediately checked the page and discovered that it is owned and managed by the very beautiful Cheska Garcia-Kramer, and his husband Doug, who currently plays for the Petron Blaze Boosters. If you haven't heard of this whole thing I'm talking about yet, it's a Facebook page that updates fans on the Kramers' latest activities, where most of the posts are cute photos of their beautiful kids.

Cheska and Doug are the amazing power couple behind the wonderful family. Having read the fans' comments on their posts, I can tell they've already inspired a lot of people in just a short time (I'm one of those peeps), I heard they immediately got a hundred thousand likes in one month. I have now added them to my list of favorite power couples :) I'd like to have a family like theirs someday :) And oh. They remind me of David and Victoria Beckham (Posh & Becks).

Michael Lobb Feature

                                                                                    Credits to: Michael Lobb

Last year I had the opportunity to sit down and be interviewed by the very creative Australian musician/photographer, Michael Lobb (for his Arts & Photography book "For the love of Music: A Photographic exploration into Manila's rock scene". ). It was really a pleasure meeting him and sharing my thoughts with him. To be honest, I was ecstatic to be a part of this project because it also included Philippine music veterans like Joey Ayala, Johnny Alegre, and Cynthia Alexander. The whole experience was both fun and inspiring for a starting musician like me :)

Change is inevitable.
I hope I don't give up on my dreams of becoming an influential musician (singer/ songwriter).
Or if I do, I hope it's for the best reasons...

Read about the interview by clicking on the link below :)

Prod Concerns

First semester is finally over! :) Cheers!
I've got to admit I wasn't the most diligent student in my production class last sem, it's really dejecting that as much as I like attending the class because of my friends and all the nice people (I'm an irregular student), I can't seem to enjoy shooting, editing, directing, or producing *sigh*.

You may be thinking then why did you take that course if you don't enjoy doing those things?, well, my dad didn't approve of BS Criminology when I was in high school but that was only because he loves me so much and he only has two living daughters left. Papa didn't actually prohibit me from taking my preferred course, it's just that I know it would be uncomfortable for him to have his eldest daughter go into studying a field that is more appropriate for men.

Going back...

Don't get it wrong, I don't hate my course or anything, the issue's only about last sem's production class, and the succeeding prod subjects I'll be taking the last three semesters. I have to take action on this matter, you might share with me some tips :(

I have to start learning how to love production classes :)

Thoughts on a rainy Sunday afternoon

I woke up late this morning (past 9am) to the sound of the rain pouring on the plastic surface outside our balcony. I wanted to go back hugging my super fluffy pillow, but as much as I wanted to, my stomach was already hankering for some eggs, a pack of Flat Tops, a warm cup of green tea, and a sausage. I had what I want for breakfast, except the sausage -.-

This has really been a great week, despite the stressful environmental condition and the ever changing weather. I was able to meet up with some good friends and catch up, I enjoyed the conversation I had with my special man, my family is doing great and everyone's healthy, and I finally got myself the pair of shorts I wanted to buy, haha.

God has given me so much, I feel happy and contented :) Yes, there might be some problems or other obstacles along the way, but faith, desire, and his guidance would always help me make it through. I love it :)

What are you grateful for to your God today? :)

List of Romantic Love Songs

I used to like listening to sad jazzy love songs and rock rebel music, (I'd sometimes even wear black eyeliner to match the mood lol) but some 'magic' must have happened cause now I am SO in love with romantic love songs. I've been listening to a bunch of love songs from wonderful artists for five (5) consecutive months already. It's so cool. I also found joy singing to their tracks in front of the mirror, haha! I love it how the positive lyrics and the wonderful melodies give my me a positive mental attitude towards love. You should try it too! :)

Here's a list of (love) songs for your hearing pleasure :)

1.) Rush Rush- Paula Abdul

2.) When a Man Loves a Woman- Michael Bolton

Today's Quote- 07 13 13

Happy Afternoon! I'm really loving the weather
It's a rainy Saturday evening and I'm here at the dormitory lobby sitting very comfortably :) Thanks to the very cozy sofa.

On your left is a quote I found from Positive Outlooks' facebook page that says "Every day may not be good... but there is something good in every day".  No explanation needed, there's always something good in every day, it's just that sometimes, we don't notice 'em that much. Waking up in the morning, having something to eat, and having something to wear are just some of the manyyy good things we can be thankful for :)

Another reason why I posted this one is because I wanted to give myself some positivity...I failed to answer my professor's question awhile ago -.- not because I didn't study but because I went on a mental block (I was also very sleepy). I studied all night but when sir Ron called me to explain the certain topic, I was only able to give him one sentence, and one-sentence answers in his class won't get you good grades in recitation :l

The subject is called Investigative Writing/ Reporting, and though it's not an easy subject to pass, I enjoy attending the class, I see sir Ron Gagalac as a very good professor. The pressure and the amount of reading (very detailed handouts) is helping me sharpen my focus. So, it's a good thing :)

Guess I'll stop here. I segued way from the quote haha. Byiee :)

Bloggers Expo

Last July 6, 2013 (Saturday), fashion blog fanatics excitedly gathered at the DLSU-D Retreat Conference Center to hear from their favorite bloggers at this year's Blogger's Expo, an interactive seminar on fashion, lifestyle, and photography. The event was prepared and organized by the energetic DLSU-D Communication and Media Society, the newest organization in La Salle Dasma, it's actually a first of its kind in our school =)

Justin Borja, Danika Navarro, and sisters Vern and Verniece Enciso were the much-awaited guests that lovely Saturday afternoon.

Well... I wasn't really able to attend the first part of the seminar (which I suppose was Justin and Danika's talk), but at least I was present during the second part in the afternoon which was Vern and Verniece's. So that means that I wouldn't be able to talk about Justin and Danika :( Aw.

Vern and Verniece with Jes Patalud (VP for External Affairs) & Tomi Adrias (President)

Though I've already lost my amusement with fashion bloggers, I really enjoyed V&V's short lecture on fashion blogging. They had this cute powerpoint presentation loaded with tips, life quotes and motivational words that supplied inspiration to us listeners. Vern and Verniece also shared their good and bad experiences in blogging; the haters, the fans, how blogging gave them the opportunity to travel, how it created more networks for them, and how it helped them get endorsements from big brands. They also entertained questions from the audience after the last slide.

Live Giveaways.
Vern and Verniece were thoughtful and generous enough to bring LOTS of goodies for the fans who came. Bags, beauty products, pouches, and other fashionable items were given away as prizes. It's definitely one of the funnest moments during the event. I went home with a pouch, haha!

I now find the sisters adorable :) And I'd love to hear from them again the next time they visit the school.

Last words.

Again, this year's Blogger's Expo was made possible by the DLSU-D Communication and Media Society :) Like us on Facebook :)

More than Jewels by Bart Lacap

I was browsing for quotes in Facebook when I suddenly came across this beautiful poem. It really got me.
You guys should check this out =)
More than Jewels

If ever I should fall in love
And my heart taken from its place,
May it then be of things above,
With beauty and amazing grace.

And if someday these things be found
Within a woman's company,
May she then be of wisdom, crowned
Who loves the Lord God more than me.

Personal

Like what Esther Hicks have said so many times, "words don't teach", it is through our personal experiences that we really learn our valuable lessons.
___________________________________

I've only been in two relationships, both of which weren't serious.

I used to wonder why I attracted the same type of person and situations before, later realizing it was all because I did the same mistake of forgetting my worth and placing a low value on myself after the first one hit hard. That was the reason why I almost had the 'same picture' with the one who came after him (but he was so much better and was a nice guy, but I didn't really like him that much). I should have known I can't expect someone to love me without learning to love myself again first. I unconsciously tried to resolve past issues by jumping into another relationship. I should've gave myself time and allowed the previous scars to heal first.

I really really regret the reckless decisions I made..
Shame on me.
..But at the same time I'm also thankful that this has taught me a jar of lessons :

What the jar contains:

- Know and value your worth.
- Always be careful when it comes to making important decisions.
- Resolve previous issues first before getting into a new relationship, allow time to naturally heal the wounds first, or else you'll regret it.
- Don't get into something you're uncertain of.
- Learn to forgive yourself
- Be grateful of the things you've learned
- Seek guidance from God

What's done is done, I'm over everything that has happened, and I'm really glad I am :)  it just happened that I suddenly thought about it. I was posting ads when this popped into my mind. Hmm. I wonder why.

It just gets more exciting everyday :D

Random thoughts on a Wednesday night..

..the more someone appreciates you, the more you wanna give them something to appreciate, and the more you appreciate them :)

..instead of looking for the perfect or ideal person, look for the right one.

..it really takes two to tango.

Iba iba :)

Most often we compare our past or present relationships with other people, or to the kind that we see in the movies.. Well, it's not really proper to compare your relationship with this or that dahil iba naman ang kwento naten sa kwento nila. Iba iba ang love story nating lahat, remember that :) We should just be happy na nakilala naten yung mga taong minahal natin date.. dahil tinuruan nila tayo ng lessons at mas lumakas tayo. Kung may present lovelife naman at napapaligaya ka nya, be thankful that you have someone right now :) Kung wala patience lang :) Sa buhay naten, makakagawa tayo ng mga maling desisyon na magdadala satin sa mga maling taong hindi tayo mapapasaya..nakakalungkot at nakakadisappoint pero tandaan nalang naten na ang pagkakamali talaga is part of life, dun tayo natututo.

Friday Afternoon Thoughts

Lost time is never found again- Benjamin Franklin

Time is precious, time is gold. Unfortunately, not all of us realize the importance of spending time wisely, cause most of us are all busy spending it imprudently.

The quote pretty much explains itself well. Once we lose the time to say what we need to say, or do what we have to do at a particular moment, there’s no getting that particular time back, it’s done.

Fear

So often we are afraid to say the things we want to say, do the things we want to do, or take the risks we want to take. Why? It’s because of fear. Fear is like an invisible force that hinders our courage to do other things, and by other things, I the things outside your comfort zone, the things that require you to take risks, discover, and see what’s over there on the flip side.

The Past

One of the reasons why some people find it hard to move forward in their lives is because they keep on living in the past which is wrong. Past is past. If we focus too much on it, we will screw our present. It’s okay to remember our past sometimes to remember the lessons we have learned, but to live in it? Definitely wrong, cause it’s already done. Our present is more important, for it is the moment, our current moment. We should enjoy this life, this present life that we’re living so that we won’t have regrets in the future..
